Introduction
Sustainable energy is one of the major concern in the industrial sector in the present. In order to fulfil the rising demand for biomass energy, the establishment of fuelwood plantations is crucial. Under this project, sustainable fuelwood plantations will be promoted with the community participation in Pothuhera area of the Kurunegala district.
Objectives
Promotion and establishment of fuelwood plantations based on the identified growing models with the participation of the community.
Activities
- Conducting baseline survey, preparation of GIS maps and registration of feasible farmers.
- Establishment of fuelwood plantations and supply chains.
